Taxonomy and Biology

Adult length: 23mm

Description

Head and body dorsum is black with a pair of narrow to broad, golden yellow to golden orange ( occasionally greenish yellow ) dorsolateral stripes that commence on the snout ( usually continuous around the snout ), pass over the eyes and extend to the posterior body. Traces of a similar vertebral stripe may also be present. Arms and legs are black, finely spotted or dotted with green to blue. Head venter is mainly black with some blue or green spotting. Ventral body surface is black finely spotted or dotted with green or blue.

Habitat

Lowland humid rainforest up to an elevation of about 1000 metres but most common up to an elevation of about 600 metres.

Habits

Diurnal and terrestrial frog.

Prey

Feeds mainly on ants.
