Taxonomy and Biology

Adult length: 32mm

Description

Head and body dorsum and flanks are golden yellow to bright orange ( occasionally bright reddish orange ). Upper arms are usually mainly yellow or orange but lower arms and hind legs are usually black with some small blue or green dots, spots or speckling. Some specimens have a yellow to orange wash of pigment on the arms and legs. Head venter and ventral body surface is mainly black with some yellowish or orange spotting

Habitat

Mainly lowland humid rainforest but some specimens have been recorded at elevation of about 1500 metres.

Habits

Diurnal and terrestrial frog.

Prey

Feeds mainly on ants.
