Taxonomy and Biology

Adult length: 27mm

Description

Entire dorsal and ventral surface is usually uniform bright red ( varies between dull orange or orange brown to reddish brown ) sometimes with a faint or indistinct, irregular, nebulous, brownish network pattern.

Habitat

Lower montane topical rainforest at elevations between about 1100 and 1600 metres.

Habits

Diurnal and terrestrial frog that inhabits the forest floor leaf litter.

Prey

Feeds mainly on ants and mites.
