Taxonomy and Biology

Adult length: 25mm

Description

Head dorsum and dorsal surface body colour is bright red with the pigment extending onto the base of the arms and legs. Flanks are black with small bright yellow spots. Head venter is black with some yellow spotting. Ventral surface colour is black with moderately large, bright yellow spots which may sometimes fuse to form an almost yellow ventral body surface. Remainder of arms and legs are black sometimes with whitish finger and toe tips.

Habitat

Lowland rainforest at elevation up to about 200 metres.

Habits

Diurnal and believed to be mainly terrestrial but with strong arboreal tendencies.
