Taxonomy and Biology

Adult length: 22mm

Description

Dorsal surface colour is green, yellowish green or greyish green. Flanks are black ( at least anteriorly ) and the border between dorsum and flanks is sharply defined. A white to pale green labial line is present on the upper lip and extends to the arm. Ventral surface colour is black with blue spotting, speckling or mottling and usually with a blue semicircular marking on the lower lip. Throat is black with some blue spotting. Legs are usually green sometimes with a bluish tint and sometimes stippled or mottled. Fingers and toes are usually green with or without stippling or mottling. Palms and soles are usually black.

Habitat

Tropical rainforest at elevations below 500 metres.

Habits

Diurnal and terrestrial frog.

Prey

Feeds mainly on ants and termites.
