Mantella milotympanum
Taxonomy and Biology Adult length: 19mm Description Dorsal surface and flank colour is uniform dull orange ( yellowish orange to reddish orange ) with bright red flash markings on arm and leg insertion. The males are usually a slightly brighter orange than females. Tympanum and nostril is black with a black line extending from the nostril to the eye. Throat and ventral surface colour is similar to dorsum but usually slightly paler. Legs, arms, fingers and toes are dull orange with raised veins on the thigh and with more granular skin than other Mantella species. Habitat Moist to wet tropical forest at elevations. Habits Diurnal or semi-nocturnal and terrestrial frog. Prey Feeds mainly on ants and termites. Poison Activity Poison Type: No information available
