Taxonomy and Biology

Adult length: 19mm

Description

Head dorsum, dorsal surface body and flank colour is blackish brown to black with a bright yellow dorsolateral stripe that commences on the snout ( continuous around the snout ), passes over the eyes and extend to the posterior body. Arms, legs fingers and toes are blackish brown to black with bight green to bright blue speckling. At the base of each arm is a large yellow flash marking and the underside of the upper shank has a bright yellow spot or short stripe. Head venter and throat is black. Ventral surface body colour is dark brown or blackish brown mottled with yellow to bluish green.

Habitat

Dense, wet,montane rainforest at elevations between about 700 to 2200 metres

Habits

Diurnal and arboreal frog living in water-filled bromeliads in trees.
