Epipedobates bilinguis
Taxonomy and Biology Adult length: 17mm Description Head dorsum and dorsal surface body colour is black with the granules orange, red, reddish brown or bronze brown with the red to reddish brown pigment most prominent. The dorsum pigment is bordered below by a black flank stripe or streak extending from about the eye to the thigh region. A short, oblique, white, to pale bluish stripe commences at the lip margin anterior to the eye and extends to the base of the arm. Arms and legs are finely mottled with green,blue and black above with distinct, bright yellow flash marks, bordered in black are present on the base of the arm and upper thigh. Head venter, throat, ventral body surface and often the underside of arms and legs are mottled or marbled blue or bluish green ( sometimes with some additional purplish pigment ) and black. Habitat Tropical rainforest. Habits Diurnal and terrestrial frog. Prey Feeds mainly on ants and other small insects. Poison Activity Poison Type: No information available
