Taxonomy and Biology

Adult length: 22mm

Description

Head dorsum, dorsal surface body and flank colour is black with two longitudinal rows of small, bright yellow spots commencing on the snout and extending to the posterior body located between the bright yellow dorsolateral stripes that extend from the snout ( continuous around the snout ), pass above the eyes and extend to the posterior body. A lower lateral, white to yellow stripe commences on or near the lip margin( not connected to the upper body stripe ) and extends to the groin ( sometimes broken posterior to the arm. Arms and legs are black with a bright yellow or orange to reddish orange stripe on the upper arm and thigh and usually some small yellow rounded or elongated spots elsewhere. Head venter and throat is black with some white to yellow spotting or marbling. Ventral body surface is white to yellowish with some black mottling.

Lowland rainforest

Habits

Diurnal and terrestrial frog.

Prey

Feeds mainly on ants and other small insects.
